An ongoing series where vintage postcards are worked on directly, both for image content as well as physical presence and inspiration for larger paintings. Images of roads are themselves loaded with possible interpretation and significance. There is the illusion of depth that draws the viewer in, while the added surface marks and other interventions, simultaneously force the spectator out, creating a push/pull relationship as they are a constant reminder that the piece itself is a flat surface.
