Selected details of the pattern of rubber grip-pads on the palms of discarded work gloves – iconic symbols of manual labor. Using traditional paints and gilding techniques on wood panel, the work parallels the visual language of religious icons and the aesthetic of Modernism.

The work is a surface painting but the 23K gold reflects all ambient light and creates a three dimensional landscape. Like the abandoned glove on the ground, these pieces do not have a right side up and can be hung from any side.
